Back in 2017, new pool safety regulations came into effect. Included in these regulations is a requirement for swimming pool owners to have a mandatory pool fencing inspection every three years. We know it can be a pain, but it’s done for the right safety reasons!
How do pool fencing inspections work?
The Council is responsible for maintaining a register of pools and the anniversary date for inspections. When an inspection is due, the Council sends you a notice. If you prefer Poolside Christchurch to do your inspection, simply advise the Council that you will book an IQPI. Once we’ve visited your swimming pool and completed the inspection we’ll take care of all the paperwork and update the Council.
Read more about how the inspection process works, and our responsibilities as IQPIs.
If you do not advise your Council that you have engaged an IQPI to inspect your pool fencing, their inspector will undertake an inspection when in your area.
